Ipsy Glam Bag Review for August 2017

August 2017 Ipsy Glam BagI’ve been an Ipsy subscriber for over a year now, so I know what to expect. Well, this month I got a surprise because the usual adorable hot pink mailer was a glamorous gold. The glam bag itself was fun and featured one of three inspirational quotes. Now let’s talk about my five August glam bag items.

Green Tea Calming Cream by A. True Green Tea Calming Cream by A. True

Price for full sized product: $29.00 for 2.82 ounces. Ipsy cash back is not available.

This moisture cream is incredibly lightweight. There is no heavy, oily feeling,  but I can feel the moisture being locked into my skin. I first used the cream in the evening and when I woke up the following morning my skin still felt fresh and hydrated. I like that there aren’t any overpowering fragrances just the faint scent of tea. My only issue I ran into is not with the cream itself, but the website Ipsy links you to buy it from. The search bar is super glitchy, and I had to search for the cream via Google. It’s a total first world problem, but it’s still annoying.

Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay by First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay by First Aid Beauty

Price for full sized product: $24.00 for 4.7 ounces. $7.20 Ipsy cash back is available bringing the price down to $16.80

My first impression of this product wasn’t the best. I opened the tube to smell the cleanser and a huge drop came out. It got all over my note pad, but after using the product I find myself willing to forgive it. My face felt refreshed and clean without my skin feeling stripped and dry. I’m not sure if that was the red clay or if all of First Aid Beauty’s cleansers do this. Either way, I love it! The cleanser has a slightly medicated smell. The scent isn’t noticeable and I didn’t mind it. A 2-ounce travel size of the cleanser is available for $12.

Romantic Rose Blending Brush by Glamour Dolls

Price: $3.99. Ipsy cash back is not available. Romantic Rose Blending Brush by Glamour Dolls

This brush is pretty awesome and more importantly, it comes in rose gold. The handle is sturdy. The hairs are made with synthetic fibers that are crazy soft. When it comes to blending, I found that the brush did a great job. This brush is cute, works, and comes at an affordable price. I would totally be willing to invest in other Glamour Dolls brushes.

Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner by Seraphine Botanicals

Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner by Seraphine Botanicals Price for full sized product: $22.00 for 0.07 fluid ounces. $4.40 Ipsy cash back is available bringing the price down to $17.60

This liner is pretty standard when it comes felt tip liquid liners.  The website says that the tip is made of some fancy  “RubberFlex” stuff. I didn’t even notice a difference in this tip compared to other similar liners I’ve used. The liner is waterproof and stays in place throughout the day. One thing that runs me off of waterproof eye liner is how hard it can be to remove. I had no problem when it came to removing this product.

Excessive Lash Arresting Volume Mascara by Make Up For EverExcessive Lash Arresting Volume Mascara by Make Up For Ever

Price for full sized product: $25.00 for 8.5 milliliters. Ipsy cash back is not available.

Wow, a product from a brand like Make Up For Ever. Fancy. I think this mascara was nice. I wouldn’t say my lashes had excessive volume, but the volume I did get was pretty and natural. I would say it’s great for a “no make-up” make-up look. The brush isn’t annoying and gimmicky. It’s easy to control and separates my lashes. The mascara formula didn’t irritate my sensitive eyes. I didn’t notice any clumping either. I honestly don’t see myself buying the full sized product due to the price. It just doesn’t feel worth it.
